On New years day late in the afternoon we headed off on a family excursion to Raglan domain where we've been going every year since I can remember. When we were kids it was a big competition to be the first one to set sight on land, the road there has changed a lot since I was a kid.
We had a lovely dinner together with our extended family, thankfully all the new years crowds had gone home. My sister made a human head sand sculpture and my nephew made sand castles and then as quickly destroyed them. My cousin decided to create a flat sponge bob square pants in the sand.
As we were leaving the sun starting going down - and I caught some pictures of a lovely sunset over the water.
